Air Purifiers are designed to clean the air in a particular room, floor or building. The range of the unit (how large an area it can service) depends on a few factors. The power of the fan is one of the main factors in determining how large an area an air purifier can service. The more powerful the fan, the more air it can clean. A powerful fan also means a large amount of electricity is consumed, so be careful to only use the air purifier on the lowest speed necessary. This will reduce your power bill and the noise generated by the unit.

The shape of the air purifier determines how effective it is. The best shapes are round or box shaped. The long skinny air purifiers can be effective; however, make sure that you do not place them in a corner. Corner will restrict the airflow to the air purifier so do not put your device there. You want a good amount of free space around the device so that air can flow uninterrupted through the cleaner and be effectively filtered.

Always make sure that your air purifier is equipped with a real HEPA filter. Air purifiers that claim to be “99% HEPA” or “HEPA type” are not real HEPA Air Purifiers, so watch out. A HEPA filter will capture very small particles in the air, while the imitation HEPA filter will not. The fake HEPA filters are easy to spot if you look for them but if you are not looking out for them you may be duped into purchasing one.

Some air purifiers come with built in sensors. These sensors will sense when something needs to be cleaned out of the air and they will increase power to the air purifier. Buying an air purifier with one of these sensors is a good idea, they actually work quite well. They will increase the speed when it senses that there is extra dust or smoke in the air.

Try to find an air purifier that uses a minimum of electricity. An air purifier should be left on most of the time, so buying one that does not use a lot of electricity is a good idea. This can save you a lot of money by reducing your electricity bill. Once you save this money you can put it towards the things that you really want.

Find a good company to buy your air purifier from. Although the air purifiers sold a the big box stores may seem good, they are actually not great air purifiers. They best quality and value air purifiers are usually sold by the companies that manufacture and sell only air purifiers. Look around online and find a good company that sells only air purifiers if you want to get the best value. These companies are the best to buy your unit from because they can concentrate on only one type of product.

When buying an Air Purifier you want to consider a number of factors. How much energy it uses, the power of the fan, the size and shape of the unit and the price. If you take all these factors into consideration and consider what other feature that your need, then you should be able to find a good air purifier for you home or office. There are plenty of options out there. Once you find an air purifier that suits your needs, buy it!
